College Background:-

The College was established in 1994 under the approval, registration and timely supervision of Nepal Government, Ministry of Education and sports, Kathmandu, Nepal, as "East West Language Institute." It has been restructured and registered under the company registrar's office-Nepal Government in the year 2007 as EAST-WEST COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION . It is a member of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Kathmandu.

It is also registered with Companies House in UK and Ontario Business Connects , Toronto Ontario Canada in 2009 as a Private Company with the name East West College of International Education, UK and East West College of International Education, Canada respectively. Our overseas contact offices are based in London and Ontario, Toronto.

As its name implies, the college was established with specific aim to teach foreign languages, prepare students for IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and SAT Tests and assist interested and eligible students providing reliable counselling service to study at reputed educational institutions abroad. The college is interested in educational exchange program. It spends certain percent of its income on charitable activities.

Teaching Method:-

Modern methods including oral, structural and situational methods have been applied effectively with the help of audio and video as well as self accessible Language lab.

‘Modern Teaching Materials’

We aim to fulfil demand of the learners from different fields or walks of life. To broaden awareness, situational & free conversation, common speaking or general speaking & public speaking and grammar classes are also consisted in syllabus. Debate contest, quiz contest, speech program, impromptu speech and extempore speeches are more emphasized to enable learners to speak fluently. Likewise, excursion programs are organized at every level for practical knowledge and entertainment. To improve reading and writing abilities printed materials are employed besides direct teaching methods.

The Faculty:-

We have got highly trained, efficient, experienced, graduate as well as post graduate instructors from both inside and outside the country. The college aims to give quality training and education to students. The instructors are friendly, helpful and co-operative. They bring with them experiences of working resource persons with reputed governmental or non-governmental organizations for a long time.

Counselling Service:-

Since its inception, East West has been providing counselling service to prospective students who want to study abroad. It is a member of the Education Consultancy Agencies Association Nepal (ECAN) and is considered one of the leading education consultancies of Nepal. We have developed relations with a number of overseas colleges mainly in Australia, Canada and UK and advise and support our students to enrol in their chosen courses in reputed academic institutions.

Despite being a developing country, number of students going abroad for higher studies is increasing every year. According to reports, the number of students going abroad doubled in 2007-08 compared to the previous year.

Over 3,000 Nepali students left for UK the same year and the number is expected to increase significantly in the wake of introduction of Tier 4 visa system for foreign students by the Home Office in 2009.

The College is interested to develop business relationship with leading educational institutions in the UK and work towards mutual benefit. Our aim is to help Nepali students to get quality education abroad at affordable prices.

Department and Office Staffs:-

The College, at present, has five Departments named as:
1. Managing Department
2. Administrative Department
3. Educational Department
4. Reception (S.R.O. / G.R.O.)
5. Abroad Study counseling Department.

Managing Board:-

The “Managing Board” Comprises    of seven members who have possessed a long experience in the field of education. The composition of the managing board is as below:-

There is a chairman under whom there are five members and a member secretary who is authentically the “Founder Principal” of the institute. The managing board provides the institute with fruitful suggestions and counseling for strengthening and revitalizing overall academic and administrative activities and also provides with the necessary physical equipments and materials.

Aims & Purposes:-

The college has been running with some definite aims and purposes as below:-
  • To teach and learn the foreign languages.  The learners will well identify the foreign people’s life style, customs and cultural, social as well as geographical compositions of those countries through teaching and learning of their national languages and cultures as well.
  • To make relationships with foreign countries by communication and development of their languages and cultures.
  • To provide the necessary language skills to the people working in the tourism sectors like: - travel agencies, airlines and hotel, involving in business, working in different offices (both government and non-government offices) and applying to study in foreign countries.
  • To enhance the employment opportunities by teaching many foreign languages to the people.
  • To avoid inconvenience of the students while they are studying in Schools, Colleges or any academic institutions.
  • To make both the Nepalese people and foreigners well identified with the application of one and other languages.
  • To convene and organize various Foreign & Nepali languages and cultural programs.
  • To exchange Co-operation with the national and foreign educational organization at different levels.
  • To provide reliable abroad study counseling.
